Central Pa Speedway Announces the

1st Ever STREET STOCK SHOOTOUT

May 5th, 2008

“This is something we felt the drivers needed, we increased the payouts and added the excitement of a track championship. We’re paying $1000 to win each event and $3100 to win the September race. The program also adds some well deserved bonus money for the teams through our Shootout Points Championship Series,” says track owner Tim Bainey Sr.

The exciting new points shootout will consist of four events, starting with the May 25th Memorial Day Event. The second event will be on June 11th in companion with the All Star Sprint Cars. The Yankee Doodle July 3rd race will be race #3 of the Shootout and it will all be decided September 12th -13th with a companion event to the Steel Block Nationals.  Winners of the first three events will be guaranteed a starting position in the Steel Block Nationals weekend.

Points will be earned at each event with bonus points given for the top two in each heat race.  Teams will receive 10 points for attempting an event and a special 30 point bonus for attempting all four of the events.  A regular 50pts/win system will be used to calculate the standings.

Director of operations Dan Bainey added “Street Stocks are the foundation of all racing, some of the best racing I’ve ever seen has been in that division. These guys go all out all the time. It’s fun for the drivers and it’s great for the fans, I’m glad we could put together a program like this.”

The CPS 4-Race Shootout Champion will pocket an additional $1000 and points will be paid back through the top-20.  The over $4000 point payout will boost the CPS Shootout program to a total payoff of over $20,000 for this amazing 4-Event Program!
