After Sunday’s Test Session Central Pa Speedway Track Surface Ready to Go for ALLSTAR SPRINTS Monday June 9th, 2007
With one of the country’s most exciting national touring groups, the “AllStar Sprint Car Series” scheduled to roll into town this Sunday June 15th – the Central PA Speedway is Ready to Go!
“We couldn’t be more excited,” said track owner Tim Bainey. “The AllStar Sprint Car Event should be one of the biggest events the area has ever seen in the last 20 years. We have guys scheduled to come in from all over the country, and when you add them to what should be a strong turnout by what is known as the ‘Pennsylvania Posse’, it going to be a real treat for the fans.”
For the last 2 weeks crews have been working on the “Big Track”, tearing up nearly all of turn 1 and 2 – re-laying and re-packing the new clay that was put down over the winter.
“We wanted to make sure it was right,” said General Manager Kenny McLaughlin. “We took a little extra time, and even made an extra cut right before opening the track for the test tonight - just to be sure.”
McLaughlin continued, “It looked really good, and to see a Sprint Car run wide open around here – I think that said a lot. We were really please with what we saw tonight, and we’re all looking forward to the AllStar Show this weekend.”
Bainey was also very pleased with the night, “I said from the start that we want to make sure this is the best place for teams and drivers to race, as well as the fans to watch - and I think with all the work we have done, fans can be confident that we are going to do whatever it takes to make that happen.”
Fans are invited to come out this Sunday, June 15th and be a part of this historic AllStar Sprint Car Event. It is the first time ever that one of the 2 major Sprint Car sanctioning series have ever been to the region.
Pit Gates open at 2pm, Grandstands and Hillside at 3pm, and racing starts at 7pm. General Admission is $25 for Adults, $15 for Kids ages 6-15, and a Family Package price of $60 (includes 2 adults and up to 3 kids).
Details on the event can be found at www.thebigtrack.com.
